Description
Auditions will be held in-person, but Oklahoma City University reserves the right to move to a virtual format based on pandemic risk levels. Details related to COVID mitigation protocols and requirements will be provided upon registration.
Event Details
To be eligible to register for the dance program audition, dancers must FIRST begin their Academic Application to Oklahoma City University.
We prefer that dancers take the ACT or SAT tests. A composite score of at least 21 for the ACT or 1060 for the SAT (Verbal + Math) will qualify a prospective student for auditioning. A high school GPA of 3.3 or above as calculated by the OKCU Office of Admission will also meet minimum audition eligibility requirement. Requirements options at okcu.edu/dance/audition
Transfer Students: Transfer students are required to submit college transcripts to be evaluated to be eligible to audition as part of their academic application to Oklahoma City University. Transfer students with less than 27 completed semester credit hours of academic courses must have qualifying ACT or SAT scores as described above for entering freshmen and a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.00. Transfer students for all degree programs with over 26 completed semester credit hours of academic courses must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0.

We have a no refund policy on our dance admission audition tickets. ALL SALES ARE FINAL. Please make sure you have first applied academically to Oklahoma City, have met our academic requirements in order to be eligible to audition, and checked your schedule for conflicts.
For admission and scholarship consideration:
1) Dancers must begin their academic application to Oklahoma City University by March 12, 2023.
2) Complete audition registration by March 12, 2023.
3) Attend our Dance with the Stars event held Friday, March 24, 2023. Auditioners will automatically be registered. Time will be determined closer to the event, but it is recommended that families travel to Oklahoma City on Thursday to be prepared for morning activities on Friday.
4) Attend our Audition Day held Saturday March 25, 2023.
NOTE: Participation in our Friday's Dancing with the Stars Day and Saturday's Dance Audition is required to be considered for admission.
What is Dancing with the Stars Day?
1) Learn about the exciting things happening in dance at Oklahoma City University's Ann Lacy School of American Dance and Entertainment
2) Meet with a student panel
3) Ask questions of the Dance and Entertainment Deans
4) Discover performing opportunities including The Star Dancers, Directed by Tiffany van der Merwe
5) Explore the Oklahoma City University college experience including: dorms, food service, admissions, financial aid, student life and more!
